A long night-time event full of art, flavours, aromas and musical notes is scheduled for 26 May, from 6 to 10 p.m. “The Long Night of Consulates” will include the participation of a large number of diplomatic missions in Hamburg and will offer a wide range of events and initiatives. Events will also be staged by the Italian Institute of Culture (IIC) in Hamburg, which has promoted a series of interesting initiatives, including a photographic exhibition by Salvo d’Avila on the aesthetics of food. The artist will also interact with the public and will give a brief introduction to his work. The opening of the photo show will be followed by a musical performance. On programme is a recital by baritone Victor Rud with the accompaniment of pianist Claudia Cecilia. The IIC posted the following note on its website: “The Italian Honorary Consulate, which was open on 15 September 2014, invites visitors to the Institute to a glass of wine and a little taste of Italian cuisine”. The Institute’s personnel will greet the public and will give them information on the Institute’s peculiarities and activities: from cultural events to its large library, Italian language courses and many more. Admission is free. The photographic exhibition by Salvo d’Avila will run until 15 July.
