To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Benedetto Croce, the Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow, together with the Faculty of Humanities of the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, is organising a Russian-Italian conference dedicated to one of the most significant thinkers of the 20th century. The conference is entitled “The Legacy of Benedetto Croce in the 21st Century” and will take place at the Higher School of Economics on Thursday and Friday with the participation of Italian and Russian scholars.
The event will explore a wide range of issues to evaluate the legacy of Croce’s thought, in the context of today. Italian participants include Paolo Bonetti, moral and political philosopher, Corrado Ocone of the LUISS University of Rome and Rosalia Peluso of Federico II University of Naples, curator of “The Lexicon of Croce. A philosophical-political breviary for the future”. The Russian academics due to speak include Irina Lagutina and Timofey Dmitriev.
