The design working group chaired by the Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, Vincenzo De Luca, held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, building on the great experience of the 21st Triennale di Milano and the 55th Salone del Mobile, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which organised more than 100 events worldwide.
Following the announcement made by Minister Gentiloni during his visit to Milan on 14th April this year, the working group said an “Italian Design Day” will take place every year in the overseas consular and cultural network and that in 2017 it will be held on 2nd March.
This year, however, in addition to the initiatives planned across the world for the 21st Triennale, which will close on 12th September 2016, Italian Language Week will focus attention, from 17th to 23rd October, on the relationship between design and the Italian language, to highlight the close connection between Italian manufacturing companies and our language.
The Working Group meeting was attended by representatives of La Triennale di Milano foundation, FederlegnoArredo, the ICE Agency and RAI.
