The Italian Institute of Culture (IIC) in Madrid, concomitantly with the exhibition “Gabriele Basilico, Architecture and the City” (“Gabriele Basilico, architettura e città”), will host a lecture entitled “European Photography. An Italian Take” (“Fotografia europea. Uno sguardo italiano”), curated by Elio Grazioli, contemporary art and photography critic. The lecture is scheduled at 8 p.m. on 9 June at the conference hall of the IIC. The photography show, which will run until September 6, offers an overview of different Italian and international cities through the look of one of the greatest contemporary photographers. The works on show are from the Photographic Collection of Maxxi Architecture, acquired through different acquisition projects launched over time, and also from the Maxxi Arte Collection, containing the historical nucleus of Basilico’s urban “portraits”, showing the museum’s long collaboration with the Milanese photographer as of 2002.
