Prague – The “Summer Ancient Music Festival” celebrates Venice

Music and historic attractions for a series of not-to-miss concerts. Everything is ready in Prague for the 17th edition of the “Summer Ancient Music Festival” dedicated this year to Venetian music. International composers will fascinate the audiences from 11 July to 4 August; the concerts will be held in various concert halls of the Czech capital city including the Troja Castle, the Clam-Gallas Palace, the Prague Castle and the St. Agnes Convent.
The Festival is organized by the “Collegium Marianum – Tynska skola” with the sponsorship and cooperation of the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague. The program features traditional and classical music inspired by Venice and composed by Venetian musicians and performed by well-known international and Czech composers. The Festival opens on 11 July with “Venetian portrait” and continues the following day with “Gondolas on the Seine”. Other concerts will include “La Serenissima”, “San Marco”, and “The Carnival of Venice”.
