A few months after it was formally set up, the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs in Montenegro (Assimont) officially inaugurated its office in Podgorica. The association is the brainchild of Italian entrepreneurs operating in Montenegro who wanted it to serve as a reference point for other Italian entrepreneurs that consider this part of the Balkans an attractive area in which to build their business. The Association will coordinate its activities in Montenegro with the Italian Embassy in Podgorica and will represent the Italian industry in the country by promoting a sustainable and fair internationalisation of enterprises. Its objectives include: providing guidance and information regarding the opportunities and critical issues of the Montenegrin market; helping the creation of partnerships, collaborations and synergies; strengthening the dialogue between the Italian companies in Montenegro and local businesses; and consolidating the enterprise culture in the country.
Assimont aims at promoting economic cooperation between Italy and Montenegro by stimulating and supporting the presence, interests and economic activities of the Italian industrial, entrepreneurial and commercial realities in the country and facilitating contacts between Italian entrepreneurs and businesses and Italian and Montenegrin authorities. Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco, Confindustria’s Delegate for Associative Internationalisation, Edoardo Garrone, and numerous Italian entrepreneurs operating in Montenegro attended the inauguration ceremony.
