Japan – Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo debates the relations with Italy, between culture and subculture

Today the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo will host a meeting featuring two renowned Japanese Mangaka, Hagio Moto and Yamazaki Mari, who love Italy. The two Manga artists will discuss the representation of Italy in literary works, manga comics, on TV programmes and in other Japanese artistic expressions. In particular, they will explore the image of Italy: is it credible as Italians would like it to be or is it a far-fetched adjustment to the expectations of the Japanese? Hagio Moto and Yamazaki Mari will discuss these aspects with the director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo, Giorgio Amitrano.
