The Umbria nautical cluster took centre stage in this year’s METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show), the sector’s most important international trade fair that recently closed in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
The Umbria nautical cluster was hosted at the stand set up by the Region of Umbria, with the support of Sviluppumbria, inside the METS’s most prestigious pavilion, the Super Yacht Pavilion, dedicated to the equipment, components and materials for the building of super luxury yachts. Special attention was focused on the Umbria Cluster by the new Italian Ambassador to the Netherlands Andrea Perugini who, during his tour of the Show, stopped at the Umbrian stand to chat with the representatives of the companies and to express his appreciation for the whole group and for the high level of quality and technological precision.
At the end of the visit, Ambassador Perugini personally invited Umbria Nautical Cluster President Giovanni Canalicchio and all its members to organise as quickly as possible a business mission to the Netherlands with the aim of presenting Umbria’s points of excellence to the most important Dutch shipyards. The Vice President of the Umbria Regional Council, Fabio Paparelli, said: “The stand has enabled the Cluster to introduce itself to potential customers as the sole contractor for the implementation and management of complex orders and for the designing and production of new products arising from the networking and integration of the members’ know-hows.”
