Professor Elda Morlicchio, Rector of the Università Orientale of Naples, extended an invitation to the officers of the Farnesina’s Visa Centre to participate in a seminar. The event, entitled “Facilitare l’emissione di visti d’ingresso in Italia in favore di studenti, ricercatori e docenti internazionali” [“Facilitating the issuance of entry visas to Italy in favour of international students, researchers and faculty members”], took place today and was organised to cater to the needs of the heads of the internationalisation offices of the universities in the Campania Region. It was a positive occasion to introduce to a qualified audience the visa policy that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has pursued. The policy’s aim has been to attract the best talents to our country, so that they may contribute to consolidating and enhancing Italy’s international position in the area of higher education and scientific research. The Director General of the Farnesina’s office for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies, Luigi Maria Vignali, welcomed this initiative enthusiastically. “This is an important opportunity to further enhance the dialogue between the Farnesina and the community. Within the complex scenario of immigration policies, we need to provide institutional support and accessible administrative procedures to the highly qualified individuals who choose to come to Italy to study and carry out research, contributing to the scientific and cultural wealth of our country and the enhancement of its international status.”
