Morocco: Maccaferri enters a joint venture to open a production plant in Salé

The Maccaferri Group has announced a joint venture with a Moroccan company, Marita Immobiliere. The Italian group will hold a 55% stake in the partnership that will roll out a line of gabions, metal fencing and “Reno” mattresses in the city of Salé. Maccaferri has been operating in the African Country for several years through its subsidiary Maccaferri Maghreb. This joint venture will enable the company to consolidate its activities in Morocco with an investment of nearly 8 million euros.  

Morocco’s infrastructure sector offers important opportunities for foreign companies. The competent Ministry has developed an infrastructure expansion plan to be implemented by 2035, providing for the realisation of large works for the construction of roads, railroads, ports and airports. This plan will require an investment of 55 billion euros, to be raised through public-private partnerships.
