Finland: Almaviva group wins finnish railway tender

The Italian AlmavivA Group (Transportation & Logistics Division)  has won the tender in a call for bids by the Finnish Transport Agency to create a new public information system in the over 200 stations of the Finnish railway network. The contract is worth seven million euros.

AlmavivA will design the infrastructure needed to provide the services and ensure the maintenance of the entire system for the next ten years. The system will then be connected to the circulation systems in Finland to support about 6,000 kilometres of the Finnish network. The project’s priority is to centralise the management of customer services. The service will be provided in four languages: Finnish, Swedish, Russian and English.  Mobile devices will be able to access it on line via audio and video.
