INDONESIA: INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN OIL EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES IN 4 OILFIELDS

Indonesia is increasingly open to international investments in the oil and gas extraction sector. According to the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA), many areas of the country are still unexplored and potentially fruitful and the relevant Ministry
is taking steps to grant permits. In particular, four potentially interesting blocks have been identified for which the General Directorate for Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, has recently opened a tender procedure for exploration activities. The areas involved are: Eastern Gebang (off-shore North Sumatra); Tanjung Occidentale I (on-shore Central Kalimantan); Belayan I (on-shore Kalimantan East) and Cendrawasih VIII (off-shore Papua). The first phase of the procedure envisages the presentation of applications, with deadline set for October 18th. More information is available at https://e-wkmigas.esdm.go.id.
