Coronavirus: it is possible to go and pick up those returning from abroad

It will be possible to go and pick up people returning to Italy from abroad at airports, ports or stations. All those who return, moreover, must report the circumstance to the Local Health Authorities and observe 14 days of isolation. The provision specified by the Civil Protection Department clarifies how the thousands of Italians who are returning to our country at this time will be able to reach their homes.

Anyone returning to Italy will be subjected to checks with thermo-scanner by Civil Protection volunteers.  The police will carry out border checks, facilitating the compilation of self-certification for the return to their homes. “In compliance with the measures in force for the mobility of persons within the national territory – adds the Department – only one person will be allowed to reach the airport to facilitate the return to the residence or domicile”. Such movements “falls within the ‘state of necessity’ and must be self-certified compiling the form made available to the Ministry of Interior. The form must be filled in all its parts, indicating, in particular, the route taken”.  As provided for by the decree of the Minister of Transport, in agreement with the Minister of Health, “compatriots returning from abroad, even in the absence of symptoms attributable to Covid-19, must compulsorily notify their entry into Italy to the Prevention Department of the local Health Authority and will be subject to health surveillance and isolation for a period of fourteen days”.
