ITALIAN JOINT VENTURE FORMED BY RIZZANI DE ECCHER AND PESSINA WINS CONTRACT FOR THE NEW GENERAL HOSPITAL OF BISPEBJERG
The joint venture formed by Rizzani De Eccher company, based in Friuli region, and Pessina company, based in Lombardy region, won the design and construction contract worth DKK 1.66 billion (approximately €220 million) for the extension of approximately 77,500 m2 of the existing hospital which, according to current estimates, should be completed in 2023 and open to patients in two phases in 2023 and 2025 respectively. The project’s sub-consultants also include ATI Project, an Italian architectural and engineering firm.
The New General Hospital of Bispebjerg, which will be located in a highly eco-sustainable, green urban environment and near historical buildings, will contain a large emergency room, 18 operating theatres, X-ray rooms, intensive care units, inpatient wards and outpatient clinics: 5,000 people will work there, providing healthcare to about 500,000 citizens in the Copenhagen area.
