BRAZIL – TERNA, THE CLOSING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF A NEW POWER LINE HAS BEEN SIGNED
Terna, through its subsidiary Terna Plus, the Group company responsible for the development of international activities, completed the closing with Costrutora Quebec, a construction company operating in the energy sector in Brazil, for the acquisition of the Linha Verde I power line, the second of two concessions acquired by Terna in the South American country and announced to the market in April 2019.
Specifically, with this transaction, the subsidiary Terna Plus acquires the controlling interest in the company involved in the transaction, which holds the concession for the construction of the 500 kV “Governador Valadares-Mutum” power line, about 150 km long, located in the State of Minas Gerais, in central and eastern Brazil. According to what reported by Terna, the new infrastructure will make it possible to increase the efficiency, safety and sustainability of the Brazilian electricity grid and make greater use of the potential of production from renewable sources.
The value of the operation, which includes development and construction costs, is approximately USD 50 million.
