Russia – Important contract for Danieli Group with OMK: first ‘green steelmaking’ plant in the Russian Federation
In the last few days, in the presence of the Russian Minister of Industry, Manturov, a contract was signed between the Italian group Danieli and the Russian company OMK for the creation of an industrial plant with very advanced technology.
In addition to the significant value (amounting to about 430 million euros), this is an important contract as the Italian company will supply the Russian company OMK, one of the leading local companies in the metallurgy sector, with a technologically very advanced plant with an extremely reduced environmental impact compared to that generated by traditional steelworks operating through blast furnaces. The plant in question will in fact represent the first “green steelmaking” project in the Russian Federation and is one of the most advanced plants the Italian group has ever built.
