SMEs – WEBINAR SPONSORED BY ICE, OICE AND EIB ON FINANCING AND PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Ice-Agenzia – in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Association of Italian Engineering, Architecture and Technical and Economic Consultancy Organisations (OICE) – is engaged in organising a webinar, on 23 February 2021, on the financing and procurement opportunities offered by the EIB. The event is part of the “Development webinars”, a cycle of activities aimed at promoting greater awareness among SMEs of the business opportunities arising from the financing and procurement projects offered by International Financial Institutions. The sectors concerned are logistics, integrated engineering services, construction, infrastructure, engineering and consulting.
Last year, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic consequences, the EIB Group allocated a total of EUR 76.8 bn, 30.6 bn of which was dedicated to supporting businesses and jobs in the crisis, especially in countries whose budgets could not finance massive national rescue packages. Furthermore, the group’s other investment priorities were supported, with operations targeting the environment and climate change totalling EUR 16.8 bn. Infrastructure projects were supported with EUR 15 bn and EUR 14.4 bn were allocated for innovation. Since 2015, Italy has been the EIB’s biggest beneficiary and in 2020 it confirmed this record with loans and guarantees totalling almost EUR 12 bn.
The event will be attended by the Vice-President of OICE, as well as two representatives of the EIB, who will introduce the Bank and illustrate the procurement opportunities it offers. Following their addresses, there will be a Q&A session during which enterprises will be able to discuss specific requests in more detail.
