Minister Terzi meets in Rome with UNRWA Commissioner General Filippo Grandi

Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi met today at the foreign ministry in Rome with Filippo Grandi, Commissioner General of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees).

Terzi’s discussions with Grandi – the most highly placed Italian official in the UN system – focused on Middle East dynamics and their importance in the UN’s activities, especially in Syria and Lebanon. Commissioner Grandi updated Minister Terzi on developments in the Gaza Strip, outlining the Agency’s strategies for collecting financial contributions in the context of the current economic crisis.

Minister Terzi encouraged Grandi to persevere in his efforts to foster the development of reconstruction projects in the Gaza Strip, and confirmed Italy’s support, through the Development Cooperation, for UNRWA’s activities.
