Claudio Colangelo has been released. Our co-national spoke by telephone with Consul General Joel Melchiori in Bhubanesvar, reporting that he was in good health and en route with some Indian journalists who had been able to reach the location where the two Italians were being held.
We immediately communicated the news to the man’s family, sharing in their profound relief, and I am now trying to make direct contact with him.
Now we must bring Paolo Bosusco home. Today’s success gives those who have been committed over the past days to resolving the case even greater impetus. We continue to rely on the collaboration and willingness to help of both the central Indian authorities and those of the State of Orissa.
