Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi received the Hon. Riccardo Migliori, Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), today, 9 May.
Minister Terzi confirmed the Italian Government’s support for the work of the OSCE and the “parliamentary diplomacy” conducted by the Assembly. The Assembly brings together 320 delegates from the national parliaments of the Organisation’s member states.
At their meeting at the Foreign Ministry in Rome, Minister Terzi and the Hon. Migliori discussed the main international scenarios in which the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is actively promoting human rights. Their focus was on election processes and the protection of minorities.
The two also discussed the recent elections in Serbia and Armenia, to which the Assembly sent monitoring missions.
