Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi received the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of San Marino, Antonella Mularoni, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Financial Affairs, Pasquale Valentini, at the Foreign Ministry in Rome today, 13 June 2012.
Minister Terzi and Secretary of State Mularoni signed a Protocol amending the double taxation agreement of 2002, thus paving the way for fiscal collaboration in keeping with the new international standards. Minister Terzi hoped that in day-to-day practice fiscal and financial cooperation between Italy and San Marino would take full and concrete form. Implementation of the information exchange mechanism envisaged by the Agreement would help achieve this goal.
During the meeting, Minister Terzi also raised the question of the tax situation of 6000 Italian “cross-border commuters”, a question that he hoped would soon be resolved.
