Operational Convention signed by MFA and National Research Council (CNR)

A significant moment in the meeting of scientific attachés, being held today and tomorrow at the foreign ministry in Rome, came with the signing of an operational convention between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Research Council (CNR) aimed at further strengthening what are already excellent relations.

Signed by MFA Secretary General Michele Valensise and CNR President Luigi Nicolais, the agreement provides for the establishment of a strategic committee made up of six equally qualified members from each institution whose task will be to define strategic goals, geographic areas and priority interests.

This strengthened collaboration will have the purpose of outlining strategies and approaches for promoting Italian research and innovation on foreign markets, fostering international collaboration between research institutes and facilitating the participation of Italian research bodies in competing for international projects, especially those financed by the European Union. The MFA and CNR will also be able to share the qualified human resources designated to work on the promotion and support of the internationalisation of Italian research.
