“I am grieved at the loss of a very dear friend, Johan Friso, and share his family’s pain with deepest affection”, Minister for Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino stated upon learning of the death of the Dutch prince with whom she had had a deep personal friendship.
“In these painful months of suffering”, Emma Bonino continued, “I continued to hope for a miracle, even though we knew that he had survived a terrible accident. I am very sad that he didn’t make it, and send his family, especially Mabel and his daughters Luana and Zaria, my warmest sympathies”.
