“On the occasion of the Day of Memory, I wish to express my strong solidarity with the Jewish Community as I participate in the commemoration of the victims of the Shoah – history’s worst crime against humanity, and one committed with conscious and lucid determination”.
I wish to express my firm condemnation of the recent acts of anti-Semitism against the Jewish Community and Embassy of Israel in Rome, which once again confirm the need to redouble our efforts, especially when it comes to the younger generations, to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive. Unfortunately, there is a tendency to forget, and periodically anti-Semitic reflexes re-emerge, hence the importance of disseminating the history and maintaining the memory of that tragic period”.
