UN Human Rights: CIDU public consultation

The United Nations launched procedures by which it examines the human rights commitments of all EU Member Countries for Italy. The Interministerial Human Rights Committee (CIDU) opened a public consultation ahead of the drafting of a national report to be submitted to the Secretariat of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on 15 July 2014. It will then fall to the UN Human Rights Council to assess Italy by the end of October.

Member Countries undergo assessment every four and a half years in a cycle of 14 sessions by a UPR Working Group.

All pertinent information on participation in the public consultation are available at http://www.cidu.esteri.it/ComitatoDirittiUmani/Menu/Informazione_formazione/Revisione_Periodica_Universale/
