Ukraine: Mogherini meets with Klimkin

Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini held a bilateral meeting this morning in Brussels with her Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Kimklin, with whom she also met two weeks ago in Kiev. Mogherini exchanged views with Klimkin on the latest developments in the crisis in eastern Ukraine following the Malaysia Airlines tragedy. She renewed her firm condemnation for the downing of the plane and offered assistance in the inquest under way. The two ministers also discussed Ukraine’s ongoing constitutional reforms and the ratification and implementation of the Association Agreement signed with the EU in June. Minister Mogherini invited Klimkin to make a bilateral visit to Rome during the Italian presidency of the Council of the European Union.
