Italy-Slovakia: Della Vedova meets counterpart Peter Burian in Bratislava

Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Benedetto Della Vedova met today in Bratislava with his Slovak counterpart Peter Burian, in which they discussed the Ukraine crisis, the EU’s enlargement to the Western Balkans, the EU’s Eastern Partnership and the southern coast of the Mediterranean.


The two Under-Secretaries also agreed to meet more regularly to compare notes on topics of international importance and bilateral interest. “The presence of Italian businesses in Slovakia is highly significant, and our two countries can work concretely toward further strengthening trade and collaboration in many sectors ranging from infrastructure to finance to energy”, Della Vedova underscored. During his visit, the under-secretary also met with the Italian business community in Slovakia. Finally, in a meeting with the president of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission, the two confronted principal international concerns, with particular regard to Ukraine, the Mediterranean and immigration.
