Statement by Minister Gentiloni

“President Napolitano has referred in strong terms to the roots and political outlook of the European Union”. This was the comment by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni, at the end of the President of the Republic’s speech at the Italian-German High-Level Dialogue Forum. “It is with this vision that relations between two great founding countries, Italy and Germany, should be revitalised in the interests of peace and common development”, added Gentiloni. “Once again, President Napolitano has made a strong appeal to set the discussion on the future of Europe on the right tracks”, concluded the foreign minister.
