Regarding the polemic Vanesa Marzullo raised with her statement today, the Farnesina Crisis Unit underscored that, since the outbreak of the crisis, it has repeatedly urged Italian nationals to leave Syria, considering it a country not to be visited and where the risk of abduction, attack and violence is extremely high. It has made similar recommendations to non-governmental organisations intending to send their workers to that country on humanitarian or any other type of missions.
