Gentiloni: “Luxembourg Presidency’s commitment on immigration is positive”

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, received the Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, at the Farnesina today. Luxembourg took over the Presidency of the European Union yesterday, 1 July 2015.

The focus of today’s discussion was an exchange of views on the EU immigration agenda. Gentiloni expressed his appreciation of the Luxembourg Presidency’s aim of leading the Council towards the adoption of the decision in relocation, in the run-up to the full launch by the end of July.

Today’s meeting was also an opportunity to review the outlook for and possible developments in the crises in Libya and Ukraine, and on internal relations in the EU.
