Albania. Justice Reform unanimously approved. Gentiloni: Italy expresses satisfaction for the reinforcement of the rule of law and for continuing on the road to reforms and European integration

“I am greatly satisfied with the Albanian Parliament’s unanimous approval last night of the Justice system reform. It represents a new ‘quantum leap’ in reinforcing the rule of law and in the courageous reform process promoted by the Albanian Government. It is also a sign of political maturity and responsibility as it is a result achieved with the decisive cooperation of all the political and opposition forces, with the support of Italy, the European Union and the international community. This approval gives new momentum to Albania’s perspective EU integration and its request to hastily open accession negotiations, which are staunchly supported by Italy, also in order to encourage Tirana to enforce the new reform.”
