Turkey: The Farnesina on the statements made by Turkish President Erdogan

 With reference to the statements made by Turkish President Erdogan, the Farnesina underlines that Italy abides by the rule of law and the autonomy of the Judiciary is fully respected.The Judiciary together with police forces are successfully engaged in fighting the mafia and in doing so, they certainly do not need to be encouraged by anyone.As to the relations between Europe and Turkey, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Italy’s firm condemnation of the failed military coup attempt on 15 July and confirmed the shared concern of Italy and Europe over the ongoing  events.
