The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, will begin a tour of the European capitals tomorrow, stopping at Paris, London, Berlin and Madrid, and will lastly in Pristina.
The Foreign Minister’s first mission abroad will start in the French capital where he will meet with Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault at the Quai d’Orsay and subsequently take part in a joint press point. In the afternoon, before leaving, he will have a short meeting with Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve. Tomorrow, in London, Mr Alfano will have a bilateral meeting with Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, again followed by a press point. In the afternoon, he will be briefly greeted by Prime Minister Theresa May. On Wednesday, 21 December, Hon. Alfano will meet the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin. At the end of the meeting, the two ministers will give a joint press conference at the Auswaertiges Amt. In Berlin, Mr Alfano will also meet first with the Minister of the Interior, Thomas de Maizière, and then with Hans-Gert Poettering, the president of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. On Thursday morning, at the Viana Palace, Alfano will have a bilateral meeting with his Spanish counterpart Alfonso María Dastis Quecedo, followed by a joint press point.
The diplomatic mission will end in Kosovo, where the Minister will visit the military personnel at the NATO KFOR Headquarters in Pristina and hold official meetings.
