On 24 April the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, upon the joint invitation of the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Nikos Kotzias, and of China, Wang Yi, will attend the first Ministerial Conference of the “Ancient Civilizations Forum” (GC10). In addition to Italy, the other countries represented at the Conference will be Iran, Iraq, Egypt, India, China, Bolivia, Mexico and Peru.
The Conference aims to build on the important legacy of ancient civilisations in the contemporary world through cultural diplomacy, intended as an instrument of soft power and economic growth.
On the sidelines of the Conference, Minister Alfano will hold bilateral talks with his counterparts from China, Wang Yi, Iraq, Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, and Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif.
