Minister Alfano to speak at the international conference “Human Rights and the Tolerance Crisis”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, will speak at the international conference “Human Rights and the Tolerance Crisis” at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, 16 June, in the Council Hall of the City Hall of Catanzaro, on Via Iannoni 68.

“For us, human rights are etched on the gene pool of Italian politics, of our institutions, our civil society, the production sector and our world of culture,” explained Minister Alfano, on commenting the title of the conference.

“Upholding and promoting human rights is an essential and unalienable component of Italy’s foreign policy, which is enshrined in Article 11 of our Constitution.”

The conference addresses the delicate issue of human rights from an innovative multidisciplinary approach, offering participants a qualified in-depth look into the implementation of human rights in criminal trials and in international law. The conference aims to launch a debate on the very notion of Human Rights and on the historical, cultural and institutional context in which it is applied.
