“The commitment the government has shown in recent years is now bearing fruit. We have managed to overcome a crisis that for its duration and intensity has had consequences comparable to a war. The Farnesina has given a major contribution to this overarching effort. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs contributes substantially to the promotion of the Country. This is why I’ve put economic diplomacy at the heart of my mandate, ” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, when presenting the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign Ministry, Borsa Italiana SpA (Italian Stock Exchange), and Elite SpA, which will take place on Thursday at 11:15 am at the headquarters of Borsa Italiana in Milan.
“Economic Diplomacy means promoting the growth of our companies, supporting their internationalization process and ensuring that increasing numbers of foreign investors be interested in Italy and its way of life, its style, wellbeing and culture – in a nutshell, in the Italian way of life, ” said Alfano.
The agreement with Borsa Italiana SpA and Elite SpA is something new for the Foreign Ministry: “For the first time we are signing an agreement that takes up and further develops the long-standing cooperation with Borsa Italiana. We are determined to support those businesses, listed in the Milan stock exchange, that combine tradition and innovation, high technology with style and Italian beauty,” the foreign minister added.
