Alfano: “Liberal professions are key for the EU internal market”

“Liberal professions play a key role in the EU internal market. Services, and professional services in particular, represent a key sector for the growth of the European economy, since a better and easier mobility of professionals can boost market competition and work opportunities for enterprises. In recent years, the European Union has made major progress towards the recognition of professional qualifications to allow professionals to work in a country other than his/her own. Today the focus is on a host of measures and initiatives that see Italy at the forefront. They will help us achieve ever more ambitious goals,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, ahead of his address to the meeting of the EESC Group III: “Liberal professions, a lever for the development of Europe – towards a European Manifesto of Professionals.” The event will take place tomorrow on 1 December at 9:30 a.m. at the Sala Protomoteca del Campidoglio in Rome.
