Alfano: “The export figures are good news for the Country. We continue to work to obtain even better results”

The figures on 2017 Italian exports, which are up 7.4% from 2016, amounting to more than 448 billion euros, confirm the great quality of Italian products and technology and our companies’ growing competitiveness around the world. These results issue from the skills and talent of our entrepreneurs, which have been consolidated thanks to the coordinated and coherent support of different Government agencies through the Situation Room for Internationalization. The Foreign Ministry is strongly engaged in this action through its own network of Embassies and Consulates around the world, which assist our enterprises on international markets, in establishing contacts with local Authorities – also with a view to overcoming non-tariff barriers for Italian products – and in international tendering procedures, with an impact on our economy estimated to amount to 1.4% of GDP. Export figures confirm that the systemic networking between public and private entities was – and will continue to be – fundamental for the growth of the Country.
