Minister Moavero had a telephone conversation with Albanian Prime Minister and with the opposion leader

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, had a telephone conversation with the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, and with the President of the Democratic Party of Albania and opposition leader, Lulzim Basha. To both, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed the “extreme importance of assuring the full respect of fundamental democratic rules and of the rule of law”. Ahead of the upcoming elections next 30 June, the Minister reaffirmed: “Despite diverging evaluations among Albanian political forces, it is essential to avoid all forms of violence and to express their respective opinions and positions in democratically correct ways.”

He underscored: “This spirit of dutiful mutual loyalty in opposing political discourse is necessary to assure a secure and correct election process in Albania,” which will be supervised by an international mission led by OSCE-ODHIR and made up by the representatives of numerous Countries, including Italy.
