Di Stefano opens the Council of Assocamerestero

Undersecretary Manlio Di Stefano opened today, by videoconference, the General Council of Assocamerestero.  “My presence here today, as well as at the last two world conventions in Turin and Treviso,” said the Undersecretary, “confirms the attention we pay to the activities of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad and our appreciation for the work you are doing for all of us at this difficult time”.

The Undersecretary underlined how the interaction of the Chambers of Commerce network is a precious resource. It is essential to implement international actions and to ensure a better knowledge of our country and its production abroad.

“We are facing an existential challenge,” continued Di Stefano. “We know well that restarting Italy after two months of paralysis of its production and logistic systems caused by the health emergency which, in a world so deeply integrated from an economic point of view, with the same rapidity of contagion, has cast substantial uncertainties on international trade, causing severe damage to our exports and to the movement of people that have strongly impacted the tourism sector. Uncertainty has always been the worst enemy of international trade. Our common goal is to mitigate it, as far as possible, by giving concrete answers to the Italian companies”.

“I am convinced that only by pooling our skills, we can better support our companies. Through our exports we can contribute to the relaunch of Italy after this difficult health and economic crisis,” concluded the Undersecretary.
