In September 2020, for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic, Italian exports to non-EU member countries increased once again by 3%, year-over-year, as certified yesterday by the office for national statistics ISTAT. The data regarding exports to some of our main outlet markets (outside the EU) were particularly outstanding: Italian exports to China and the USA increased by 33% and 11%, respectively, year-over-year.
The Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, commented by saying: “Yesterday’s figures give us enthusiasm and confidence for the forthcoming months, despite the current climate of great uncertainty. Nevertheless, I am firmly convinced that the Foreign Ministry and our diplomatic and consular network, in coordination with all the major players providing public support to our internationalisation efforts (especially agencies such as ICE-Agenzia and CDP, SACE, SIMEST), will continue to robustly promote the “Made in Italy” brand abroad, in the months to come, with the same resolve that allowed us to accomplish the Pact for Export “.
