The Foreign Ministry regards as unacceptable the recent statement of the Egyptian Public Prosecution Office regarding the tragic murder of Giulio Regeni. While reiterating its full confidence in the work of the Italian judicial authorities, it intends to continue to raise the matter in all appropriate fora, including the European Union, to ensure that the truth on the barbaric murder of Giulio Regeni finally emerges.
The Foreign Ministry hopes that the Egyptian Public Prosecution Office will share the need for truth and provide the necessary collaboration with the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rome.
