Minister Di Maio’s mission to Doha

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio’s two-day visit to Doha, Qatar, begins today.

Minister Di Maio is expected in Doha today to meet his counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, in the afternoon. Together they will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Dialogue.

Tomorrow, 21 December, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will co-chair with the Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications, Jassim Bin Saif Al Sulaiti, a Round Table on Green Economy.

Afterwards, Di Maio will hold talks with the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, and the Deputy Emir, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

During his mission to the Gulf country, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also meet with the President of the Qatar Foundation for Development, Education & Research, Sheikh Moza bint Nasser, and the Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Hassan Al- Thawadi.

Before returning to Italy, Minister Di Maio will greet Embassy staff and military personnel on a mission at the Al Udeid military base.
