Deputy Minister Manlio Di Stefano has inaugurated today the Italy-Minas Gerais (Brazil) Business Forum organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian Consulate in Belo Horizonte and the Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with Confindustria, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Minas Gerais and the Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais, with the support of the State Government. The event has been attended by over 600 Italian and Brazilian economic and institutional operators, who could then meet in B2B sessions on the digital platform ‘Fiera Smart 365’.
“In these difficult and uncertain times – the Deputy Minister said – today’s event is a valuable opportunity to confirm the strategic importance of the relationship between Italy and Brazil, a friendly country with which we have historical, cultural and human, but also business and commercial ties.
“The Business Forum, the first event of its kind in recent years, aims to strengthen economic relations between Italian companies and their Brazilian counterparts. It presents the investment opportunities offered by Minas Gerais with a focus on agribusiness and food processing, manufacturing and automation, sustainable energy and smart cities.
“We see great opportunities for Italian companies – the Deputy Minister continued – which are world leaders in terms of experience, product quality, know-how, innovative capacity, but also technology, versatility and reliability.
“The complementary nature of our two production systems, the ability of Italian companies to create a supply chain by sharing their knowledge with the local entrepreneurial fabric, and the high demand for Italian goods and machinery in Brazil, are excellent bases for further increasing our collaboration”, the Deputy Minister concluded.
Particular appreciation has been expressed by the Governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema, for the contribution to the economic-industrial development of the State offered by the 100 Italian companies already present there. The Governor shared ‘the hope of seeing Italian investment and trade intensify in the future and the development of new collaborations between Italian and Minas Gerais companies.
