This morning Deputy Minister Manlio Di Stefano received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aleš Chmelař, Vice Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic.

The subject of the meeting was the recovery of the global economy after the pandemic and the positive impact of the Next Generation EU on the Member States, digitalisation and sustainability projects, and bilateral economic and scientific cooperation, including in the space sector.

Despite the pandemic,” said the Deputy Minister, “Italy and the Czech Republic can boast a robust exchange. In addition to the traditional sectors of machinery and means of transport, there are now new opportunities in infrastructure, renewable energy, cyber tech and Industry 4.0.

In conclusion, Di Stefano proposed to Chmelař to identify new innovative areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening capacity in the critical sectors of the 21st century, starting with digitalisation, space, energy and batteries. All this because of the strategic autonomy that the European Union must increasingly aim to acquire compared to other global players.
