The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, will be in Brdo today and tomorrow to attend the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union (Gymnich).
The meeting will focus on Afghanistan and its rapidly deteriorating political and security situation, as well as the risks to which the stability of the entire region is exposed. The meeting will provide an opportunity for ministers to reflect on the EU’s role in the Afghan situation and on the possibility of defining joint sustainable initiatives involving key partners.
The agenda will also cover the EU’s strategic approach with the Gulf countries and relations with China.
Minister Di Maio will also have a series of bilateral talks on the sidelines of the meeting.
