The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, accompanied by the Secretary-General, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, went today to the Palazzo della Consulta to commemorate – together with the President of the Constitutional Court, Giancarlo Coraggio – the fallen of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Colonies during the First World War.
Minister Di Maio and President Coraggio paid tribute to the fallen by laying two laurel wreaths and observing a minute’s silence at the memorial plaques placed at the Palazzo della Consulta’s entrance once the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry and the Colonial Ministry.
The commemoration, traditionally held on National Unity and Armed Forces Day, took place once again in presence after the suspension imposed by the pandemic during 2020.
