The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, will travel today to the United Arab Emirates for a two-day mission devoted to the Italian National Day at EXPO Dubai 2020.
The Minister will visit the Italian Pavilion and inaugurate the National Day (November 24), during which he will illustrate the philosophy inspiring the Italian participation at Expo Dubai 2020, where many excellences Made in Italy will be on display – from culture to science, from entrepreneurship to technology – in a line of continuity with Expo Milano 2015. The Expo is an ideal opportunity for the promotion of products Made in Italy toward the markets with the greatest growth potential in the coming years, markets that are strategic for our exports and also for the attraction of investments.
The Minister will also open the workshop of valorization of Italy’s attractions and will present the National Plan of Recovery and Resilience (PNRR) entitled “Italy is back on track: Recovery, Resilience and Attractiveness”, describing the virtuous process currently underway to relaunch the Italian economy while mitigating the pandemic crisis, to an audience of exponents at the highest levels of the financial and industrial communities of the UAE, the Gulf states and the international community.
During his mission, Minister Di Maio will have the opportunity to meet Italian entrepreneurs in the Emirates and exponents of that economic, business and cultural world. He will inaugurate an exhibition of archeological treasures recovered by the Carabinieri Department for Protection of the Artistic Heritage, and attend the 4th session of the Day of Sports.
The mission will give Minister Di Maio the opportunity to meet with his local counterparts, to discuss the main topics of the bilateral agenda, current international and regional affairs, also in light of the results of the Italian Presidency of the G20 and co-Presidency of COP26.
