In Washington, the Foreign Ministry’s Director General for Political Affairs and Security, Ambassador Pasquale Ferrara, met with the Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland within the framework of the Bilateral Strategic Dialogue. The meeting offered the opportunity to make a joint analysis of the main topics on the international agenda, especially the conflict in Ukraine, the stabilisation of Libya, the situation in the Sahel, the developments underway in the Western Balkans, and the relations with China. During his two-day trip to Washington, from 27 to 29 July, Ambassador Ferrara also addressed the issue of Iran’s nuclear programme, the problems in the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to other regional and international security issues before the Department of State and the National Security Council.
