Farnesina Secretary General, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, met with Pakistani Ambassador, Jauhar Saleem, for a farewell greeting at the end of his term in Rome.

Ambassador Sequi expressed Italy’s solidarity with the Pakistani people for the serious damage caused by the monsoon rains, for which Islamabad announced a state of emergency and made an appeal to the international community. The Italian Cooperation was among those who responded to this appeal by allocating an emergency contribution.

The two Ambassadors expressed their appreciation for the state of bilateral relations, which have intensified in the past few years in terms of meetings at the political level. They also expressed their satisfaction with the economic cooperation and the increased bilateral trade exchange which exceeded the record value of 1.5 billion euros in 2021.
